Crowddreaming project – Europa Square Inauguration

Europa Square inauguration event was organised in our school from 12-17 March, 2021 among the 5th and 7th graders. During the inauguration the students visited the Europa Square, a digital platform which holds about 80 digital monuments created by the students from Greece, Croatia, Italy and Latvia who participated in the Crowddreaming project. The platform is like the virtual museum – you walk around the gallery and watch the exhibits; these are in fact thanksgiving acts to another European country or nation for having invented a cultural item that has become a part of people’s everyday life. While visiting the platform and watching the thanksgiving film scenes, the students chose their own avatars, took digital selfies, chatted with their peers and even left a written note on some of the museum’s walls. We participated by making a film where students thank (Ancient) Greece for Olympic Games.

The aims of the project „Crowddreaming: Youths co-create digital culture“ are to promote European values, cultural heritage, common history, intercultural dialogue and social inclusion through formal education and informal lifelong learning.
