GOW2012 partner for Latvia: Latvian Information and Communication Technology Association

Already a partner for GOW2011 and for GOD2010 the Latvian Information and Communications Technology Association (LIKTA)  is again the Latvian national partner for Get Online Week 2012.

The association will involve about 600 telecentres in NGO’s, libraries and state or municipal organizations, and in private organizations & schools. Planned activities are seminars about e-services, hands-on trainings & demonstrations, conferences and workshops & introductions to the internet.

LIKTA is also a stakeholder for e-Skills Week 2012 that runs during the same week in which they will focus on the follow activities: ICT careers and ICT tools for education; SME’s and micro enterprises go digital; IT online tests and competitions for students and youngsters.

LIKTA will promote their campaign by involving ICT industry and national partners, the library network, the school network and regional partners & state institutions. All partners will be reflected on a digital map of Latvia. They will also widely use social networks and media partners. Latvia expects to involve over 30.000 people during the campaign’s week.
